GHK-Cu: what a research claim needs from its source
GHK-Cu claims often travel without the details needed to read them. A compound name, a cell experiment and a finished-product comparison can all appear in one discussion, even though their subjects differ.
Keep the tested material in the sentence
Free GHK has the reference formula C14H24N6O4 and weight 340.38 g/mol in PubChem CID 73587. The FDA Prezatide Copper record supplies names for the copper-containing identity. Copying a number or finding also means retaining the material it describes.
This matters in gene-expression research. Campbell and colleagues' 2012 primary paper used tissue profiling and cultured human lung fibroblasts. The authors reported GHK-related expression patterns and collagen-gel contraction. The paper labels the experimental compound GHK. The 2018 GHK-Cu article reviews this literature and proposed mechanisms; it does not replace the primary experiment.
Read what changed between the compared products
In Badenhorst and colleagues' 2016 report, 40 women entered a randomized, double-blind, split-face cosmetic study lasting eight weeks. The authors reported lower wrinkle volume for the GHK-Cu carrier formulation against both a commercial product and control serum. Wrinkle depth differed significantly from the control serum, but not from the commercial product.
The control serum contained neither GHK-Cu nor its carrier. The comparison therefore concerns the formulation. One participant stopped after minor skin reactions on both sides; symptoms resolved, and the outcome table reports 39 volunteers. These details constrain what can be claimed from the paper.
Check the type and date of an official record
The FDA UNII lookup is an identity record whose own note says that a UNII does not imply regulatory review or approval. The May 14, 2026 FDA 503A document lists a qualified GHK-Cu entry under evaluation in Category 1. Use the full entry, including its qualification, when reading the list.
A registry is another source type. NCT07706361 records LifeWave's X39 patch study of circulating GHK/GHK-Cu. It was not yet recruiting and had no posted results when checked October 14, 2026. The registered intervention and measured entity need to stay separately described.
The GHK-Cu identity and research record links these source types. For offered material, use the GHK-Cu powder documentation guide.
